Nikki Lemire received her performance degrees from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She has studied with her mother, Janell Lemire of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Kathy Kienzle of the Minnesota Orchestra, and Elizabeth Cifani of the Lyric Opera Chicago. Since 2010, she has taught at the MacPhail Center for Music –Minneapolis in the Suzuki and Traditional departments and recently began as the harp instructor at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Ms. Lemire also maintains an active performance career with many ensembles in Minnesota and North Dakota and has regularly served as principal with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony and associate principal with the Duluth Superior Symphony. She has recently performed as principal harp with the Minnesota Opera in their productions of Puccini’s Boheme and Tosca, Strauss’ Salome, Bernard Herrmann’s Wuthering Heights and the debut of the Kevin Puts’ new opera Silent Night. She has also appeared on recordings with the Minnesota Opera, the Exultate Chamber Choir and Orchestra, and the National Lutheran Choir, among others. Nikki lives in Minneapolis, MN with her husband Kent and daughter Viivi Louise.
