Nikki Lemire Guthrie received her performance degrees from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  She has studied with her mother, Janell Lemire of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Kathy Kienzle of the Minnesota Orchestra, and Elizabeth Cifani of the Lyric Opera Chicago. Since 2010, she has taught at the MacPhail Center for Music –Minneapolis in the Suzuki and Traditional departments and recently began as the harp instructor at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  Ms. Guthrie maintains an active performance career with many ensembles in the   Twin Cities and surrounding area, and has served as acting principal with the   Fargo   Moorhead Symphony  since 2010, associate   principal   with   the   Duluth   Superior   Symphony  since  1999, and as associate principal of the Minnesota Opera since  2009.      Most notably, she has performed as principal harp with the  Minnesota Opera in their   productions of  Puccini’s  La  Boheme  and  Tosca , Strauss’  Salome , Bernard   Herrmann’s Wuthering   Heights  and the debut of the Kevin Puts’ new opera  Silent   Night . She also performed as harpist  in  Stephen  Sondheim’s  A  Sunday  Afternoon  in   the  Park with  George  at the  Guthrie Theater during  summer of 2017.   She has been   featured on recordings with the Minnesota Opera, the Exultate Chamber Choir and   Orchestra, and the National Lutheran Choir, among others.  Nikki lives  in Minneapolis,   MN with her  husband Kent and daughters Viivi Louise and Thea Marie.
